What we build

Commercial spaces, rebuilt to work.

Tenant improvement and custom remodels are our specialty. Whether it is an office floor, a storefront, a restaurant, a dental practice or a building that needs bringing into ADA compliance, the job is the same: take a space that no longer works and make it ready for business.

Why owners hire us

Four decades of not making it your problem.

Building Concepts Construction has held California license #444320 continuously since 1983. In that time the single thing we have built the business on is that the person who bids your job is the person who runs it.

You are not handed to a project manager who was not in the room. Michael Peterson bids the work, runs the schedule, and answers the phone when something changes — because on a commercial job something always changes.

  • On-schedule completion. Lease dates, school calendars and opening days do not move. We build to them.
  • Honest numbers up front. Existing-building risk gets priced when we bid it, not discovered in change orders.
  • Subcontractors with track records. The trades we bring have reputations we have verified over years.
  • Work in occupied buildings. Hospitals, schools and offices that cannot shut down while we build.

How a project runs

Four steps, no surprises.

  1. Walk the space

We meet you on site, look at what is actually there, and talk through what you need the finished space to do.

  2. Scope and bid

A written scope and a real number — including the existing-building conditions most bids leave out and bill for later.

  3. Permit and schedule

We pull the permits and build the schedule backward from your occupancy date, then sequence the trades against it.

  4. Build and close out

We build it, walk the punch list with you, pass final inspection and hand over a finished space.
