Retail construction has a hard deadline built into it. Every week a store is not open is a week of rent against no revenue, and in retail the opening date is usually tied to a season that will not wait. We schedule retail work against the open date and treat it as fixed.

Retail also answers to a landlord. Mall and shopping-centre work runs on tenant design criteria: what the storefront can be, how the signage attaches, which hours you are allowed to make noise in, where deliveries and construction access happen, and who inspects the work before the landlord releases the space. We have built inside major regional malls, including new tenant improvements at Westfield Santa Anita, and we know how to work inside those rules rather than fighting them.

Inside the space, retail is a finish job with infrastructure hidden behind it: storefront and entry, feature walls and fixtures, flooring that survives traffic, lighting that makes merchandise look the way the brand intends, POS and data, security and life safety.
